Match report In the most nail biting encounter since Neville Thompson approached the bar threatening to buy a round, Olney came within a whisker of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Putting Milton Bryan in to bat. Messrs Panter and Jewson removed the openers for not many before the ever youthful Gratland removed the entire middle order for yet another 5 wicket haul (overvalued at 4 I don't think !!) - Gilly weighed in to help by taking their No 8 ! before Quent back to the bowling arena finished the job off.
Out to the crease came Olney fully expecting to breeze to victory - confidence misplaced however. Skipper Panter decided he had had enough of looking at Kingston the other end and promptly ran him out ! Cooke was walking back to the pavilion within seconds of walking away from it before Mr Gillam came out to steady the ship - a few lusty blows later and IG was back in the hut for a top scoring 29. Gratters added a 12 run haul before the Jones cricket wagon rolled into town.
Quentin and son Martin came in on an extremely difficult very damp unpredicatable pitch on 76-9 with the bookies already paying out on Milton Bryan winning tickets. However young Jones had other ideas - despite being surrounded by every single member of the MB team barring the bowler, MJ defended stoutly whilst Dads 15 runs the other end saw Olney home in a nail biter which the Saga sponsored side really could have done without !!!

The promise of Gratters having wild passionate man love with skipper Panter should Olney win from 76-9 failed to materialise as Panter took refuge in The Green Man !
