Match report A rather forgettable opening day of the season as Olney II were humbled by newly promoted Eggington. The day started well with one player not bothering to turn up (one for the future then!) so the 10 men set off with a somewhat doomed look about them!

With what was clearly never going to be described as a batting side skipper for the day Harrison crucially won the toss and inserted Eggington. The bowling did its job and Eggington recorded just 151 before being skittled out. The only bowling of note coming from Oli Knowles whose 9 overs conceeded just 8 runs and 3 wickets and a tidy little spell from Ben Brown.

However the X rated stuff then kicked in with Olney in to bat - with Simon Gratland and Gary Brown (first game for 7 years)opening the batting.
However anyone who blinked would have missed Brown departing to the first ball he faced! Welcome back to cricket!

Gratters stood and watched the only 2 batsmen Hurley and Harrison come and go for only 5 and 3 respectively as Olney 2's 'raced' to 24-5 !!

The misery was finally ended on 62 all out!

To complete a spiffing day there was no bl00dy cup of tea at tea, the actual tea shall we say 'lacked imagination' the showers didn't work and some comedian asked for £6 for a bottle of Becks and a 3/4 pint of Fosters !!
